MONARCH SCHOOL SELECTED BY THE PGA TOUR

It was recently announced that the Monarch School  was selected as the PGA Tour National Charity of the Year.  As a result, the non-profit will receive a $30,000 grant and will be featured in a PGA TOUR produced PSA to air during the 2016 season.

The school was created exclusively to educate homeless children, or those most at risk for homelessness in San Diego. Completed in 2013, Davy Architecture and Bycor Construction teamed to renovate a concrete warehouse in the Barrio Logan neighborhood of San Diego.

Inspiring the next generation of Architects!

For the second year in a row, Eric Davy and Melina Aluwi participate in Career Day

We recently participated in Career Day, connecting with local students that are not regularly exposed to professions requiring a college education.  Fourth grade students at the school were asked to write about their "Dream Job".  They wrote about cashiers, hotel maids, housekeepers--jobs that did not require a university or technical education. Career Day was one of the culminating events in a yearlong focus on college preparedness and educational goal setting. They enlisted the help of a wide variety of community professionals, and the Davy team was proud to be involved!

Davy Architecture participates in Calmentor Program

The Calmentor Program aims to increase the pool of smaller architecture and engineering firms that participate in regional transportation projects. Overseen by the California Department of Transportation District 11, SANDAG, and ACEC San Diego, the program pairs smaller firms with mid-size and larger firms in the area.

Davy Architecture was paired with HNTB Corporation, a provider of infrastructure solutions to public and private clients throughout the state. For their participation as a mentor, HNTB was recently recognized through an Outstanding Performance Award. When asked about his experience with HNTB, Ric Davy said the following:

"Being involved in the Calmentor program is one of the best opportunities we've had to grow our business. HNTB’s expertise and ongoing support have further enhanced our capabilities and helped to position our firm for greater future success. After 28 years in practice, we still had much to learn. Our 29th year was our best year ever, and our 30th was even better.”
