The Chula Vista Animal Care Center has over 112 dog kennels, five individual cat wards, a clinic and public education room as well as administrative and clinical support spaces. The ideal climatic conditions of southern California allow the kennels to be in an outdoor, heavily landscaped park which contains trellised walkways and an amphitheatre for educational presentations. The cat adoption mall is featured upon entry, displaying the cats in a cheerful, well-lit, comfortable environment. We utilized integral color concrete and galvanized steel fencing to minimize the institutional feeling experienced at other shelters.
